IES Biogas joined American Biogas Council

IES Biogas joined American Biogas Council (ABC), the trade association representing the entire biogas industry in the United States.

The ABC is a non-profit trade association based in Washington, DC and represents over 200 companies in all parts of the biogas supply chain who are dedicated to maximizing the production and use of biogas from organic waste.

The biogas American market is the third most important in the world featuring the production of 3 Mtep.

The potential for growth of the U.S. biogas and biomethane industry is huge. ICF, the important global consulting and technology services company founded in 1969, estimates a renewable natural gas production potential until 3.780 tBtu/y by 2040: it could achieve until 235 million MT of greenhouse gases emission reductions.

According NNational Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) the biomethane potential is 516,5 PJ*.
